Welcome to Glasstronomy Studios’ adult art glass workshop program. This calendar details workshops and courses offered from September to October 2026.
Whether you are a beginner or advanced, or somewhere in between, we have opportunities for everyone to hone or expand your skills. This season we’ve covered off a variety of project based learning. To register, we currently accept payment in person (cash, Debit, MasterCard and Visa), by email (e-transfer), or by phone (MasterCard and Visa). Please note that HST will be added to the listed fee at time of payment.
Cancellation policy: A Studio credit will be issued for cancellations up to 7 days before start date. We regret that Studio credits will not be issued under the 7-day threshold.
Studio credits can be applied to a future purchase of a workshop or course.

Fine print — As of March 2020, non-members who are first-time registrants are required to complete and sign a waiver * prior to participating in the learning session they are paying for. The waiver is an acknowledgment of our cancellation policy (mandatory), waiver of liability (mandatory), and image use (optional). If you choose a remote method of payment, the waiver will be emailed to you. Registration will not be deemed complete until the signed waiver is emailed back.

This fun and sassy course is sure to get your creative juices flowing! In this two-evening course, participants will begin by making all the "raw" material they can out of 96 COE glass and accessories using techniques like sgraffito, stenciling, and paint washes, as well as recreating old favourites like confetti, chopsticks, and mardi gras glass. On the second evening, you will create as many projects as you can from your fired stash of pings, stringers, and decorated sheet glass. Whether clocks, coasters, dishes, jewellery, or vases, you are only limited by your imagination. As shape and size will vary, the final firings are à la carte.
Project 96 COE glass and accessories, and material-making kiln firings included.
Finished project firings, optional metals and hardware are not included.
Beginner fusers are welcome!
Glass cutting experience is required.

Fee: $250 + HST (includes project 96 COE glass and accessories)
Refresh your skills or continue exploring the timeless art of traditional stained glass. Designed for students with previous experience, this course will take your craftsmanship to the next level as you learn to glaze more intricate patterns using a variety of came sizes. You'll also explore key structural considerations, including curved forms, weight distribution, and thermal sealing techniques.
Throughout the course, you'll apply these advanced skills to create a beautiful 16-inch × 10-inch arched stained glass panel to take home.
All metals and some workshop glass included.

Welcome to stained glass! Bright and engaging, stained glass is a wonderful medium to inspire creativity and relaxation. This four-week course includes hands on instruction in traditional lead came stained glass in our spacious and fully equipped studio. Participants will learn how to safely handle, cut, and break sheet glass, and lead and glaze an 8-inch x 10-inch stained glass panel.
Some glass, metals, chemicals, and tool usage included.
Beginners are welcome!
When: Thursdays, October 8, 15, 22, and 29, 2026, from 7 to 10 pm
Fee: $325 + HST (includes some project glass, metals, chemicals and tool usage)
Perfect for beginners and intermediate fusers alike, this fun and relaxed morning workshop will introduce you to the magic of our favourite metallic-coated marvel: dichroic glass.
Using dichroic glass, known for its rich, colour shifting depth, 96 COE glass, and kiln fibre, participants will learn the basics of kiln firing while creating as many pieces as they can during this two-hour session. Once fired, choose six of your favourites to finish with silver-coloured jewellery bails — making them ready to wear on your favourite chain or to give as beautiful, hand-made gifts.
All project materials and kiln firings are included.

Fee: $115 + HST (includes all project materials and kiln firings)
Dabbing, streaking, and sponging, oh my! Explore the various textures and designs you can achieve using Glassline paint. Learn how to use a variety of brushes to develop certain effects. Then, apply these techniques when you create your own 16-inch x 10-inch charcuterie board. As well, you will receive basic tips on design elements.
All project materials and kiln firings included.
Some experience using Glassline paint would be an asset.
When: Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 10 am to 12 pm
Fee: $195 + HST (includes all project materials and kiln firings)
Beyond the bead: Soldering techniques and surface effects
Does your solder spit or pit? Are you struggling to form a smooth, even bead? A clear understanding of how solder and flux interact can transform the soldering process — eliminating common frustrations while opening the door to expressive decorative techniques and sculptural possibilities.
In this focused afternoon workshop, participants will explore best practices for soldering maintenance, proper flux use, and controlled solder application. Through guided demonstrations, participants will learn how to achieve clean seams and develop a range of decorative solder finishes, including hammered, bamboo, and pearl textures. Participants will also be introduced to methods for stamping and sculpting solder, expanding its potential beyond structural joins into a decorative design element.
Using glass bevels and 60/40 solder, each participant will create a small 4-inch × 4-inch Tree of knowledge panel that showcases several of the techniques explored during the session.
All project materials are included.

What’s spooky, sparkly, and the perfect way to greet your trick-or-treaters? A 12-inch x 18-inch fused glass haunted house garden stake, of course!
The latest addition to our fused glass garden stake series, this Halloween stake features a classic haunted house perched atop a jack-o’-lantern, creating the perfect canvas for your spooky, sparkly imagination.
Using 96 COE glass and accessories, you’ll layer and embellish your design with Glassline paint, dichroic glass, slides, frit, vitrigraph stringers and pings to create a one-of-a-kind Halloween showpiece. From eerie details to glowing colour and creepy-crawly surprises, this is your chance to play and get creative with glass!
Whether it’s welcoming trick-or-treaters, haunting your garden, or adding a little Halloween magic to your home, your finished piece will be ready to make an appearance year after year, under an All Hallows moon.
All project materials and firings included. Stake or stand optional.

24 pieces. 12 hours. One seriously spectacular chess set.
Part sculpture, part stained glass, part game — this is functional art you can actually play with.
Custom artwork is meant to be admired, but why stop there? In this two-Saturday workshop, create a completely unique stained glass chess set featuring 24 individually crafted, sculptural chess pieces, each with its own personality.
Using hobby came, a soft and wonderfully malleable metal, participants will learn to wrap, shape, sculpt, and construct each 1-inch x 2–3-inch character, using the came as both structure and ornamentation. Black and white glass and glass marbles are included.
But the magic doesn't stop there. Your completed chess pieces will be electroplated for a shiny, durable finish, giving your handmade players a distinctive, polished surface and turning them into a truly collectible set.
Whether displayed as artwork, enjoyed over a game of chess, or gifted to someone special, this is a one-of-a-kind Glasstronomy showpiece designed to be admired and used.

Optional custom game board
Take your chess set to the next level with a 12-inch square mosaic glass game board, created during two evening Open Studio sessions.
Using the traditional technique of glass mosaic on wood, participants will learn to use the Morton System for precision cutting to create their black and white checkerboard. Once the glass is glued in place, return for the second session to grout and complete your board.
Black and white iridescent glass included.
No beginners please.
