Designed for experienced glass artists seeking a rewarding challenge, this project moves beyond flat construction into fully realized three-dimensional form.

Workshops

  • WORKSHOP | B242 | Playing with molten glass: A night of hot glass combing (January 16, 2026)

Get ready to experience the magic of molten glass in this exciting, hands-on evening workshop. A night of hot glass combing invites participants to step into the heat and discover the thrill of working with flowing, glowing glass — no prior experience required.

  • WORKSHOP | I460 | Playing with pot melts: Recycled glass art (January 22, and 29, 2026)

One of the most exciting benefits of fused glass is its remarkable recyclable potential. Whether glass has been previously fused or set aside in the “scrap” pile, if it is COE-compatible, it can be reimagined into fresh, custom material and become part of an entirely new masterpiece.

In this two-part workshop, participants will spend the first evening transforming cast-off 96 COE glass into stunning, one-of-a-kind hot glass rondels known as pot melts. Through the firing process, colour and movement naturally emerge, creating swirling, organic glass disks that are impossible to replicate.

Inspired by their newly created pot melts, participants will return the following week to cut, compose, and fuse these unique elements into a finished artwork — choosing to create a picture, panel, or small sculptural piece that highlights the dynamic patterns within the glass.

Each participant will complete one finished fused glass artwork, either a 10-inch round or an 8-inch x 10-inch rectangular piece.

Some prior glass fusing experience is required.
All project materials and firings are included. Display hardware is not included

    When: Thursdays, January 22, and 29, 2026, from 7 to 10 pm

This project balances guided instruction with creative freedom, allowing each piece to reflect individual colour choices and interpretation.

The finished work may be displayed as a garden stake or stand-alone glass art piece, bringing seasonal beauty indoors or out.

    No beginner fusers, please.
