  • WORKSHOP | A445 | Fused glass technique: Winter woods (November 8, 15, and 22, 2025)

The winter woods exude a quiet peace — snow resting gently on pine boughs, dry aspen leaves whispering as cardinals in their brilliant winter plumage dart and play. The joy of the first snowfall invites us to pause, reflect, and celebrate the beauty of the season. In this three-afternoon workshop, you’ll capture that serene winter magic by creating your own one-of-a-kind landscape greeting, beautifully framed in a custom 10 x 24-inch metal frame. Your masterpiece will showcase the remarkable versatility of vitrigraph kiln techniques, Glassline paint, and layered glass engineering. Participants will learn to create vitrigraph rods, experiment with frittage, and explore our newest vittrage technique. Once assembled and mirror-backed, your finished piece will be a stunning showstopper — bringing a sense of calm and beauty to any home all season long. All project materials, firings, and metal frame are included. When: Saturdays, November 8, 15, and 22, 2025, from 1 to 4 pm Fee: $495 + HST (includes all project materials, firings, and metal frame)

  • WORKSHOP | G309 | Fusing technique: Bas relief holiday serving tray (November 29, 2025)

Glasstronomy Studios 2600 John St., Unit 108, Markham, ON, Canada

Contemporary design meets form and function. Join Elizabeth for a rewarding day of creativity as you craft a beautiful 12 x 16-inch fused glass serving tray using the technique of layered bas relief — a low-relief sculptural method where designs are gently raised above the background, adding interest, depth and texture. Working with Duraboard and Durafibre of varying thicknesses, participants will create dimensional textures with 96 COE double-thick clear and coloured cathedral glass. All project base glass, fibre materials, and firings are included. Coloured cathedral glass not included. Participants must bring or purchase two to six coloured cathedral 96 COE sheets (minimum 1/3 of a standard 12 x 12-inch sheet per colour). Contrasting or variants of warm or cool tones in light to medium density will best show the detail. When: Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 10 am to 4 pm Fee: $195 + HST (project base glass, fibre materials, and firings are included) + two to six colours of cathedral 96 COE sheet glass
